For this piece I played with the use of various repetitive shapes. I also used shapes to create some depth, and used brighter colors in the foreground of the image. I especially enjoy the dancing figures which I repeated on the right side of the image.
In addition to the nice use of colors, the repetition in this piece helps create a pattern that knits the whole thing together. I think the patterning is one of the things that helps the eye make sense of it instead of being overwhelmed by the complexity of the image.
ReplyDeleteI think the chromatic contrast between bright yellow and dull blue in the left of the image also carries a lot of water for you. These areas, along with the dark red, create some broad regions we can use to orient ourselves before lingering on specific details.
